Test Specimen

  • 5-10 mL of blood collected in a red top or serum separator tube (SST).

  • Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.

  • Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma to a Standard Transport Tube.

Storage, Stability & Shipping

  • Room temperature = 3 days

  • 2-8 ºC = 1 week

  • -15 to -25 ºC = samples in long-term storage
