KSL Diagnostics Launches Pop-Up COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Site at Walden Galleria

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

The Mall’s first COVID-19 testing and vaccination site opens to the public in time for the Holiday Season, ready to serve local residents and an influx of Canadian travelers expected with the new open border policy

KSL Diagnostics, a Western New York-based company that has conducted more than a half million COVID-19 tests since the start of the pandemic, has opened a Pop-Up COVID-19 testing site in the Walden Galleria to serve local residents and Canadian visitors in time for the Holiday Season. The mall’s first testing location open to the public — located on the second floor of the Walden Galleria next to Macy's — also offers vaccinations, providing an easy, convenient way for holiday shoppers to gain protection from the virus.

To celebrate the opening, AJ Baynes, President of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, Don and Mike Arthur, Owners of Brighton-Eggert Pharmacy, and Kevin Lawson, President and CEO of KSL Diagnostics, presided over a ceremonial ribbon-cutting in front of the new Pop-Up location in the mall on Thursday, November 18 at 10 a.m.

The Pop-Up store offers the most popular test for travelers, the RT-PCR with a 30-minute or 24-hour results turnaround options, as well as rapid antigen.

COVID-19 vaccinations, initial dose(s) and boosters, are also available at no cost – covered by insurance or government assistance. Vaccines will be administered at the Walden Galleria location by Brighton-Eggert Pharmacy, a WNY family-owned, community pharmacy since 1968.

Additionally, KSL Diagnostics has opened a mobile COVID-19 testing site at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls (corner of 1st and Niagara Streets) offering rapid testing. While travelers do not need a test to enter the United States, a negative PCR test is required to travel to Canada. This mobile testing site will help with the demand spurred by the new open border policy.

About KSL Diagnostics

At the onset of the pandemic, KSL leadership knew that a significant, global healthcare emergency was unfolding before their eyes. They felt obligated to act and understood the dire need to get testing for this novel virus quickly underway. With access to the necessary resources, KSL introduced large-scale testing to the Western New York region and has since performed more than a half million COVID-19 laboratory tests. KSL’s COVID-19 testing sites are open to the public and do not require an appointment.

KSL Diagnostics operates four testing locations in WNY that deliver quality RT-PCR testing services with the area’s fastest, most reliable turnaround time for reporting test results:

  • 28 Best Street, Downtown Buffalo

  • 1000 Youngs Road, Williamsville

  • Rainbow Bridge (corner of 1st and Niagara Streets)

  • Pop-Up Testing & Vaccination Site at Walden Galleria (2nd Floor Next to Macy’s)

Additionally, in line with New York State Department of Health Return to School requirements for diagnostic COVID-19 testing, KSL Diagnostics developed and oversees a COVID-19 testing network of more than 25 testing locations including independent WNY pharmacies and urgent care centers.
